We Are Not Friendless

Some Satanists believe that we as Satanists are utterly alone and friendless and therefore should have nothing but contempt for all who disagree with us.

It is not true that we are utterly alone and friendless. For example, there were lots of people other than Satanists who fought -- successfully -- against the "Satanic Ritual Abuse" witchhunts of the 1980's and early 1990's. (See "Satanism" scares and their debunking on my Against Satanic Panics site.)

We need to remember who our real enemies are. Our real enemies are hardcore Christians, especially religious right wingers, especially those who want to impose a Christian theocracy. And they are growing.

"The herd" is not our main enemy. The herd is merely the herd, and can be led by either our foes or our friends -- though probably not by us directly (at least not openly).

It does not behoove us to display contempt for our allies and potential allies against our real enemies. We Satanists are but a tiny subculture. However much some of us may fancy ourselves to be supermen, the reality is that we cannot win the battle alone. But, as the history of the SRA scare has shown, we can win with the help of allies.
